MY JOURNEY

I’ve always believed in the power of creativity, learning, and community. Reflecting on my journey into running my own business, I realize it all started unexpectedly—at my grandmother’s house when I was just seven. She created a game called "The King Is Coming." The idea was simple: She’d write all the cleaning chores on slips of paper, toss them into a bowl, blast some music, and we'd get to work, transforming the house into a spotless home before my mom came to pick me up or my grandpa came home. It wasn’t just about tidying up—it was about organizing tasks, checking off boxes on the to-do list, and creating a sense of excitement and teamwork. That game left an impression on me. It taught me that every task could be enjoyable and every project, big or small, could be approached creatively. I didn’t know it then, but this lesson would set the foundation for my career and future business endeavors. As I grew, my passion for creativity, structure, and collaboration evolved. I pursued a degree from Pepperdine University, where I earned my teaching credential with an art concentration. But it wasn’t until I moved to Plain, WA, a rural community, that I truly learned how to create something out of necessity. In a small town where opportunities were limited, I realized that to thrive, I needed to carve out my path—and in doing so, I also found joy in creating opportunities for others. That’s when I combined my love for design and newfound business skills to launch my first business, *Finishing Touch Rental Management*. I helped vacation rental owners maximize their properties while bringing beautiful, functional design to life. This past year, I returned to my roots in teaching, creating and leading a curriculum for our local alternative high school on career development and small business management. It was inspiring to guide the next generation of entrepreneurs through building something from scratch, watching them overcome challenges, and seeing their ideas come to life. It reminded me how much I love helping people realize their potential—whether in a person, a project, or a space. Beyond teaching, my creative passions continue to shape my life. I love staging homes, curating spaces, and bringing design to life—especially when I can showcase local businesses and artisans. There’s something magical about creating beautiful spaces that tell a story, reflect the community, and highlight the talents of local creators. At the core of everything I do is the belief that creativity can change lives. Whether helping a student launch their first business or designing a unique home, I’m driven by the joy of seeing ideas come to life. Like that childhood game with my grandma, I believe in making work enjoyable, connecting with others, and creating something special together.
